We are working in:

Education

  1. Education is a cornerstone of any society, and improving the quality of education for all is a major priority for governments and NGOs around the world.

One of the most effective methods for improving education is to work with government schools. Through this collaboration, we can leverage their resources to increase access to quality education and ensure that all children have the opportunity to succeed.

From providing additional learning materials to offering financial aid. Enhancing the educational experience of children in government schools can have a lasting impact on not only those students, but their communities and society as a whole. Together, Infinities Foundation and government schools can work to create a brighter future for everyone.

Books and Library Culture

  1. Libraries are precious places!

This is where a child learns on his own, grows on his own. In India, there would be only be a few lakh children in the country with an access to this magical place. Most government run schools and other low income schools lack a Library and hence many children miss out on what necessarily is an essential part of education. This is where, Infinities Foundation has the privilege to step in and make
this magical world a little more accessible.

As Infinities Foundation, we believe that every child has the right to enjoy good books in a language he/she understands and in a familiar context. Books is a brand of stories as the children who read them. As an NGO, our dream is to see a country where every child wants to read, is able to read and has something good to read.

Voting Awareness to Build Strong Democracy

  1. Voting is one of the most important rights we have as citizens of the India. It is our opportunity to have a say in who represents India  in government, and it is a way to hold our elected officials accountable. Despite this, voter turnout rates are shockingly low.

One way to increase voter turnout is through voting awareness campaigns. These campaigns work to educate citizens on the importance of voting and the impact their vote can have. They also seek to remove barriers to voting,

Voting is important because it is a way for people to have a say in their government and to elect officials who represent their interests. It is also a way for people to hold their government accountable. Voting allows people to have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

In addition to being a fundamental right, voting is also important for the health of our democracy. When people do not vote, they are effectively silencing themselves and ceding power to those who do vote. This can lead to bad decisions being made that impact everyone, even those who did not bother to vote.

Finally, voting is important because it sends a message to our elected officials that we care about what happens in our country and that we are paying attention to the issues that matter to us. When large numbers of people don’t vote, it sends the message that we are complacent and that they can get away with anything.

Through the campaign, we call on more people all over the world to become life-savers by volunteering to donate blood regularly.

  1. Planting Trees to Save Environment

Trees help to combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, removing and storing carbon while releasing oxygen back into the air.

They also reduce wind speeds and cool the air as they lose moisture and reflect heat upwards from their leaves. It’s estimated that trees can reduce the temperature in a city by up to 7°C.

Other environmental benefits include the fact they help to prevent flooding and soil erosion, by absorbing thousands of liters of storm water.

From birds and insects, to bats and squirrels, trees provide a canopy and a habitat for many species of wildlife. But they don’t just act as a home for wildlife; the fruits from trees provide food for them too.

Trees help to improve air quality by intercepting and trapping dust and other pollutants from the air. The shade of trees also provides a useful barrier to harmful ultra-violet radiation from the sun.

But it’s not just our physical health that benefits, our mental health does too. When surrounded by trees or taking part in nature-based activities, stress and depression levels can be significantly reduced.

Trees can bring people together. They can act as a landmark within neighborhoods and encourage pride amongst people within that community.

Trees and woodland areas can be used to bring people together for educational purposes. They also allow for activities such as walking or bird watching. In addition, they give children somewhere to play in and feel a sense of adventure.

So, as you can see, humans, animals and the environment depend upon trees for survival. Therefore, as deforestation continues, we must put back what we’re taking away.

By planting more trees, it will contribute to global reforestation efforts, restoring lost forests, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate changes.

  1. Women Empowerment & Gender Equality

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. There has been progress over the last decades, but the world is not on track to achieve gender equality by 2030.

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential. But gender inequality persists everywhere and stagnates social progress.
On average, women in the labor market still earn 23 percent less than men globally and women spend about three times as many hours in unpaid domestic and care work as men.

Sexual violence and exploitation, the unequal division of unpaid care and domestic work, and discrimination in public office, all remain huge barriers. All these areas of inequality have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic: there has been a surge in reports of sexual violence, women have taken on more care work due to school closures, and 70% of health and social workers globally are women.

At the current rate, it will take an estimated 300 years to end child marriage, 286 years to close gaps in legal protection and remove discriminatory laws, 140 years for women to be represented equally in positions of power and leadership in the workplace, and 47 years to achieve equal representation in national parliaments.

Worldwide, nearly half of married women lack decision-making power over their sexual and reproductive health and rights. 35 per cent of women between 15-49 years of age have experienced physical and/ or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence.1 in 3 girls aged 15-19 have experienced some form of female genital mutilation/cutting in the 30 countries in Africa and the Middle East, where the harmful practice is most common with a high risk of prolonged bleeding, infection (including HIV), childbirth complications, infertility and death.

This type of violence doesn’t just harm individual women and girls; it also undermines their overall quality of life and hinders their active involvement in society.

Regardless of where you live, gender equality is a fundamental human right. Advancing gender equality is critical to all areas of a healthy society, from reducing poverty to promoting the health, education, protection and the well-being of girls and boys.

If you are a girl, you can stay in school, help empower your female classmates to do the same and fight for your right to access sexual and reproductive health services. If you are a woman, you can address unconscious biases and implicit associations that form an unintended and often an invisible barrier to equal opportunity.

If you are a man or a boy, you can work alongside women and girls to achieve gender equality and embrace healthy, respectful relationships.

You can fund education campaigns to curb cultural practices like female genital mutilation and change harmful laws that limit the rights of women and girls and prevent them from achieving their full potential.

  1. Rural Development and Empower Grassroots

India, a land of diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, is a country that constantly evolves, driven by the collective aspirations of its people. While the nation's history is marked by pivotal moments in its quest for progress, there is an emerging narrative that centers around the role of grassroots movements in shaping the country's future.

These movements, often organic and driven by the aspirations of the common citizen, are a testament to the power of collective action and the desire for positive change.

Ritesh Rawal, an Indian change maker and Entrepreneur has shared some insights on how grassroots movements are shaping India's dream country future.

In a country as vast and multifaceted as India, the voices of change emerge from various corners and manifest themselves in diverse ways. These movements address a wide spectrum of issues, including environmental conservation, social justice, rural development, women's empowerment, and education reform, among many others.

While each of these movements is unique in its objectives, they share a common goal: to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all Indians.

Social justice is another critical focus of grassroots movements in India. In a nation with a history of caste-based discrimination and inequality, numerous movements have emerged to challenge and rectify these deep-rooted injustices.

While the fight for social justice has been ongoing for many years, grassroots organizations are increasingly playing a pivotal role in amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and advocating for their rights. Their work is vital in creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

Rural development is yet another area where grassroots movements are making a substantial difference. India's villages constitute a significant part of the population, and these movements are striving to improve the living conditions and economic prospects of rural communities.

They often focus on issues such as access to education, healthcare, and clean drinking water, which are essential for the holistic development of rural areas.

Education reform is another area where grassroots movements have had a lasting impact. They work to improve the quality of education, especially in disadvantaged communities, and advocate for educational policies that promote access and inclusivity.
